Hi— I work for a US government healthcare entitlement program. Was wondering if Acthar Gel is on your list. It’s in our formulary but extraordinarily limited number of diagnoses even though it could work for a lot more. It’s extraordinarily expensive, and it looks like the manufacturer’s business strategy was to get a significant percentage of earnings based on the government paying for this drug. Acthar might have fit well with the patent-meds episode, but I believe ProPublica did an article on it awhile back that had an interesting backstory. Thanks for your work—love the pod and happy to support.
